Using Prevention Science Approaches to Reduce Adolescent Violence

Prevention science merges knowledge from life-course and program evaluation research to inform new approaches to improving human development.

Early achievements of prevention science were studies showing that child behaviour problems predicted the development of adult violent behaviour, including family violence. Parent education was then shown to reduce adult violence by improving child behaviour.

This panel will showcase current Australian researchers using the prevention science approach to prevent and reduce violence.
